dc.description.abstractIn this study immunohistochemistry was used to detect progesterone, progesterone receptor, estrogen receptor-α, Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor, Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen, Matrix Metalloproteinase-9, Caspase-3 and P-glycoprotein in the canine endometrium. Furthermore serum progesterone levels were measured and anamnesis as well as clinical examination was used to relate the immunohistochemical findings to the stages of the bitch estrous cycle.en
