dc.description.abstract“Why is Arrythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy such a complicated disease and how is it connected to the human version? What is the genetical background and how can it be used to control its propagation in the boxer breed?” The aim of this thesis was to make a comparative literary review on the current situation ARVC (arrythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy) according to the clinical presentation and genomic background. By using data from when the disease was discovered in 1983 to studies that was published in the beginning of 2015 to give a wide perspective as possible on this complicated disease. Boxers have been studied for ARVC since its discovery and a lot of focus has been to connect the disease to the human form. There’s a hope that they are similar enough that boxers can be used as an animal model helping researchers understanding the human condition.en
