Abstract
This investigation was undertaken to review knowledge about the influence of corpus luteum weight on intraluteal progesterone concentration. Veterinarians can use ultrasound to identify and measure maturing follicles or corpora lutea throughout the oestrous cycle of bitch. Application of progressive knowledge relating size and intraluteal progesterone concentrations in the lead up to and after ovulation could assist in the efficiency of insemination/breeding schedules. Blood and ovaries were collected during routine neutering performed at Szent István University, Budapest. The experimental group involved a total of 29 dogs.
