In my thesis I have written about the level of aflatoxin contamination in the region of North-Serbia. This year's hot and dry weather was beneficial to the spreading of Aspergillus mould, which is responsible for the appearance of aflatoxin. As a result of this, the samples analysed in September showed that the aflatoxin contamination exceeded the limit in corn, mixed feed and again in raw milk. The Serbian government had intervened quickly (on October 5th, 2015 – while I was working on this thesis) and raised the maximum allowable limit of AFM1 to 0.25 μg/kg regarding dairy products thus avoiding an economic damage caused by the higher content of aflatoxin.en
