The aim of the survey was to describe the actual measured mineral content (Ca, P, K, Na, Mg, S) of the total mixed ration (TMR) in Hungary, moreover to give recommendation according to the findings. Mineral content measurement of the high milking and close up TMRs, as part of a countrywide farm controll system is a new approach in Hungary. There were 29 farms involved in the control system during the survey period (2014: 8 months, 2015: 5 months), with approximately 300 analyses. The mineral analyses as part of the control system was introduced in Hungary on 1st May 2014 by the Livestock Perfomance Testing Ltd. The mineral concentration was analysed by ICP-EOS technique at Szent István University (Faculty of Veterinarian Sciences).en
