Abstract
The aim of this thesis project would be to try and understand the potential zoonosis of Borna disease virus from animals to humans, and discuss its effects on human mental disorders. We will examine the link between the endemic animal BoDV-1 virus and the worldwide human BoDV-1 virus. Furthermore, we will consider the different mental disorders affecting humans the BoDV-1 could be associated with, and the absence of evidence that hold together the hypothesis.
