Y Background: A mixed tumour is a tumour derived from more than one type of tissue. Objectives: The authors report the histopathological and immunohistochemical characterization of a solitary benign compository mixed tumour with sweat-gland adenoma and simple lipoma components, that has been excised from the left scapular area of a 11-year-old female golden retriever dog. Materials and Methods: After macroscopical investigation, the tracheal tissue samples were separated and conservated in 8% formalin for 24 hours at room temperature, embedded in paraffin wax and further processed for sectioning (3-4 µm) and immunohistochemistry (antibodies: pancytokeratin, vimentin, smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), S 100 protein, and - claudin-5). Results and Discussion: The tumour was 2 × 2,5 cm large, moderately firm, sub cutaneous, painless, and movable. Preoperative cytology result was simple lipoma. During the histopathological investigation demarcated, circumscribed, benign neoplastic proliferation of the differenciated lipocytes have been observed, that entrapped centrally a tubulopapillary simple apocrine sweat gland adenoma (size: 1,5 mm × 6 mm). The sweat gland adenoma immunohistochemically showed pancy tokeratin- and claudin-5-positivity, vimentin-, α-SMA- and S-100 protein-negativity. The myoepitheliocytes around the adenoma showed vimentin-, α-SMA-, S-100 pro tein-positivity, and pancytokeratin-, claudin-5-negativity. Smooth-muscle cells in the wall of the tumour-induced microvessels were positive for α-SMA and vimentin, furthermore the endothlium was claudin-5-positive. Lipoma cells were vimentin-, S-100 protein-positive, and pancytokeratin-, α-SMA-, claudin-5-negative. To the author’s knowledge this is the first report of such a tumour in the vet erinary scientific literature. The authors recommend the naming of the tumour adenolipoma.en_US
