Y This case report describes unilateral polydactyly in a 2 year-old mixed breed stallion. This horse is used for working purposes in Transylvania. Different types of polydactyly as well as detailed description of the case with surgery and follow-up are described in this report. The first metacarpus with fused proximal sesame bones as well as partially fused proximal phalanx were visible on X-rays. Distal third osteotomy with removal of the overdigit was performed during surgery with primary closure of the wound. The surgery and postoperative care was uneventful. This horse returned to work after 3 months.en_US
