| dc.description.abstract | SUMMARY
Based on the available national and international literature, the authors review the
nutritional, feeding, management and other environmental predisposing factors
leading to periparturient disorders and diseases, the most relevant risk to the
health of dairy cattle herds. Management related actions are presented to help
preserving the health of the animals which help improving the production and
reproduction performance of the herds. It is pointed out that it is high time that
herd-level veterinary approach spread among professionals, the most important
monitoring herd diagnostic methods are highlighted and some of the most up-to-date monitoring tools and practices are mentioned. | en_US |
