Abstract
The CO2 laser is one of the most novel modern day pieces of technology used in canine and feline ear diseases especially in diseases which would require complex surgery such as total ear canal ablation and bulla osteotomy which both involve prolonged recovery times. This study aimed to evaluate the application of CO2 and hard laser surgical methods in canine and feline ear diseases. To do so, we compared it to more traditional methods used for canine and feline ear disease treatment by evaluating existing literature for this topic and found that the CO2 laser should be used instead of more traditional methods such as TECABO where possible.
