Differences in salary demand according to age groups and gender among veterinarians in Hungary and Germany
Abstract
The veterinary profession has recently undergone a major change due to the gender shift
balance. The gender gap is significantly larger among younger age groups and career entrant
veterinarians. The present study examines the main factors contributing to identify variations in
salary, salary demand and satisfaction among veterinarians in Hungary and Germany. The
survey was carried out using an online questionnaire and it examined country, age group and
gender preferences and focused on the challenges associated with job satisfaction in veterinary
medicine.
