Abstract
The use of medicinal plants as alternative or complementary therapies in veterinary medicine has gained considerable attention in recent years. A systematic literature review was performed to investigate the therapeutic potential of selected medicinal plants in the management of health conditions in dogs and cats, which especially grow in Israel. Due to its unique geography, Israel has many indigenous plants, connecting three continents with different climatic zones. The research encompasses a multidisciplinary approach, incorporating botanical, pharmacological, phytochemical, and clinical perspectives. By providing scientific evidence supporting the safety and efficacy of selected plant-based treatments, this research seeks to expand the therapeutic options available for veterinarians, enhance animal well-being, and promote sustainable and holistic approaches to veterinary healthcare.
