In this thesis a total of 37 dogs, eighteen from Hungary and nineteen from Norway, was reviewed. The data was collected from 2002-2011 in Norway and from 2005-2011 in Hungary. All dogs scoring “severe or bad pruritus” from the questionnaire followed by ASIT were initially included. All of the asked owners participated. Fifteen percentages of the Norwegian dogs had an improvement with 100-80%. Forty-two percentages reached the improvement of 80-60%. Twenty-one percentages reached 60-40% of improvement. Most of these dogs showed improvement at an age between 3-6 months of age. In Hungary, none of the dogs reached the 100-80%, but thirty-three percentages reached the 80-60%, and thirty-eight percentages reached 60-40% improvement. Most of these dogs showed improvement at 3 months of age. Any final conclusions were not done. As the results were too inconsistent, and as this was due to problems with lack of information, and additional treatment during the ASIT. Based on this a final conclusion could not be drawn. The results comparing the two countries and their treatment methods rate there are some, but still very small differences in treatment method. The recovery after the use of ASIT are divided, since some of the owners also used additional treatment during or after the therapy. However, the ASIT must be considered as a very safe and long term solution for the treatment of CAD.en
