Breed development and strategies of Swedish Warmblood

Abstract

The Swedish Warmblood is one of the world’s oldest horses. Their development since 1600s has been extraordinary; From being a horse used in war to a horse that participate in the work on a farm, and nowadays a horse for competitions in jumping, dressage and eventing. The goal is to develop the breed in a way so we can follow an international standard. With this thesis I wanted to investigate how Sweden can develop the breed even more.
