For the veterinary profession, Brexit marked the end of free movement and mutual recognition of professional qualifications, which had historically allowed EU-trained veterinarians to practice in the UK without additional licensing requirements. This shift has significantly disrupted the workforce, which was heavily reliant on EU nationals.
