| dc.description.abstract | In this thesis, I would like to enlighten the reader on the current knowledge of the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). Unknown to the general public but yet globally widespread, FIV is one of the most deadly and contagious viruses. Isolated for the first time on domestic cats by the Professors Janet Yamamoto and Niels Pedersen in 1987, the virus was discovered in wild cats only in 1989 by Professor Barr, and has been widely distributed worldwide since at least the 1960s. | en_US |
