Abstract
This Thesis is an investigation into how Chinese cultural beliefs, behaviors and the use of traditional medicine is directly effecting rhino and elephant populations in Africa. China’s lust for endangered animal products is driving a demand for these species that threatens their very existence. Using an extensive literature review and interviews taken with African conservation experts I will try to understand why China places so much worth on rhino horn and ivory.
