Abstract

Superficial non healing corneal ulcers are common and well described in humans, horses and dogs(Bentley et al., 2001; Murphy et al., 2001; Stanley et al., 1998; Kirschner et al., 1989; Dursun et al., 2001; Ryan et al., 2013; Reidy et al., 2000; Michau et al., 2003; Hakanson & Dubielzig, 1994).Among their many names, they are commonly referred to as indolent ulcers, refractory ulcers, recurrent corneal erosion syndrome and indolent-like corneal ulcers(Ryan et al., 2013; Cooley & Wyman, 1986; Moore, 2003)
