This study gives an overview about a wide range of collected data about serum amyloid A in cats, which is known until now. Nevertheless there are many features and details about SAA, which are still not completely understood. This also includes a lot of inflammatory/noninflammatory processes like e.g. liver diseases, certain tumours or anaemic cats with CKD, where the role of SAA is not totally clear. Also it has to be mentioned, that the size of the reference population needed to find a representative RI depends on the statistical method. A population of 41 cats is a comparatively lower number, which increases the confidence limits of the upper and lower reference limits, but nevertheless it is useable.en_US
