Abstract

The bursal secretory dendritic cell belongs to the minor cell populations of the bursal medulla. This cell type has dendritic processes and secretory granules. It most probably develops from the lymphoid cells enclosed in the epithelial arcades of the medulla. The BSDC matures in the medulla, secretes its granules by exocytosis, and this granule content becomes a fine granulated extracellular substance of the medulla, that is a glycoprotein.
