The Medicinal Plants in the Maltese Islands and their Ethnoveterinary aspects

Abstract

In this review, the importance of medicinal plants is discussed. We look intothe metabolites of plants and the resulting active constituents which are responsible for the therapeutic effects these plants possess. Looking into the history of medicinal plants all around the world showsthe potential uses of the medicinal plants present in the Maltese Islands.
