dc.description.abstractIn this review, the author collected all the available information supporting the hypothesis of functional asymmetry in the case of the hypothalamus. These findings, often sporadic and sometimes by-products of the original research, highlights the plethora of possible research areas, and at the same time also the huge challenges involved in investigating the brain area in question. Nevertheless, once the understanding of the hypothalamic function is clarified from this point of view, it will enhance our global understanding of the main neuroendocrine centre that then will offer improved therapies to hypothalamus-linked health conditions.en_US
