Abstract
The aim of this thesis was to investigate the effects of bovine colostrum in different aspects of human medicine, highlighting the nutritious value of BC, and its rich profile of bioactive molecules that are superior to that in mature milk, as almost all its compounds are at a higher level. These include immunoglobulins, growth factors, cytokines, macroand micronutrients, all of which contribute to the development of the immune system, the maturation of the microbiome within the GIT and the growth and development of the newborn calf.
