Abstract

Brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome (BOAS) is a severe and debilitating health condition that affects many dog breeds, including the English Bulldog, due to their unique facial structure that predisposes them to airway obstruction and breathing difficulties. This condition is caused by selective breeding for brachycephalic features, such as shortened muzzles, which have led to a range of health problems in these dogs, and BOAS is one of the most common and severe.
