The Investigation of a Novel Antibiotic Free Therapy to Combat Mastitis in Dairy Cows.

Abstract

In this thesis chlorine dioxide was investigated as an antibiotic free therapy to combat Prototheca zopfii mastitis in dairy cows. Due the issue of antibiotic withdrawal periods and the developing widespread antibiotic resistance, antimicrobial consumption within the dairy industry must be significantly reduced.
