The family of the Chamaeleonidae is compromised of 202 known species as of 2015 and belongs to the order Squamata suborder Iguania. ! Genera are split into Brookesiinae (Brookesia, Palleon) and Chamaeleoninae (Archaius, Bradypodion, Calumma, Chamaeleo, Furcifer, Kinyongia, Nadzikambia, Rieppelon, Rhamphoeleon and Trioceros).! The evaluation of necropsy findings is an essential tool for development of disease prevention measurements and for enabling proper treatment of chameleons.!
