Abstract

Caprine arthritis and encephalitis (CAE) virus is causing various pathological conditions (encephalitis, arthritis, pneumonia and mastitis) in goats. The infected goats are lifelong carriers and shedders of the virus. To avoid economic losses, the virus should be eradicated from the infected stocks.
