Absztrakt
The aim of this thesis was the evaluation of lipase and amylase levels in the diagnostic
investigation for the equine acute abdomen. A study dedicated to the usage of the pancreatic
enzymes in differential diagnosis, and especially in diagnosing acute pancreatitis in the horse,
has never been preformed. Data from colic cases was collected from a period of 3 years; from
20011-1013 and this data was sorted into excel sheet. In all clinical cases the horse was
admitted to the clinic due to severe and unrelenting abdominal pain/colic.
