Fetal sexing techniques in cattle and horses
Abstract
The aim of this thesis was to describe different techniques that are available for diagnosing the fetal sex in cattle and horses. Initially, the thesis describes how to determine the fetal sex by the aid of ultrasonography. Ultrasonography is the widest used method for fetal sex determination in cattle and horses due to the different location of the male and female genital tubercle in these two species. It is a non-invasive, safe and reliable method that doesn't harm the fetus as well as pregnancy rates does not be affected. It needs skilled veterinarians and quality machine to detect and separate the different anatomical tissues.
