Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common disease in small animals. Therapy can be challenging, and the mortality is high. Mannitol is an osmotic diuretic often used in the treatment of oliguric and anuric AKI. There are many studies on mannitol that shows a beneficial effect besides increased urine output. Hence mannitol may have positive effect on kidney function and thus may be eligible for use in non- oliguric AKI. Considering the previous studies done this retrospective study was conducted to evaluate the effect of mannitol in patients with non-oliguric AKI compared to only infusion therapy.en_US
