Abstract
In this thesis, literature on unethical and forensic aspects of pet keeping has been reviewed. It has been thoroughly shown that animal abuse exists and is being carried out in many different forms, mainly separated by whether or not it is intentionally causing harm. In general, any action, or indeed lack of action, that brings physical and/or mental discomfort and pain to an animal, is considered animal abuse.
