dc.description.abstractSUMMARY In the first part of this publication, the authors, based on current literature, demonstrate the changes specific to spayed bitches, involving the genital tract and mammary gland tissue, the field of incontinency, as well as the effects of neutering on certain metabolic and endocrine functions in both genders. The changes affecting the male genitalia and the effects of neutering on bone tissue, and the relation to tumour development, observable in both genders, will be discussed in the second part.en_US
