Abstract
Dystocia can be defined as an abnormal or difficult birth (Schuenemann, 2009). It occurs when the first, but more frequently the second stage of labour is interrupted, prolonged or impossible for the cow to naturally give birth or it cannot be completed in a timely manner without the need for external aid.
