Abstract
Borrelia miyamotoi is a tick-borne spirochete of increasing importance in the northern hemisphere. It is transmitted by the same Ixodes ricinus-persulcatus complex that is responsible for the transmission of B. burgdorferi sensu lato (s.l.).
