The goal of this experiment was to check if there are any differences between neutered and intact rats in connection with their weight gain, feed consumption, digestibility of nutrients and body composition. A total of 11 rats were involved in the study: 5 neutered and 6 normal ones. The body weight of rats in the two groups did not show any significant difference on the 1st, 4th, 15th weeks and 300th days of the experiment (p>0.05). The difference in the feed consumption of the rats was also not significant. The digestibility of the organic matter, crude protein and ether extract was significantly better in the neutered group (p<0.05) compared to the control animals (70.59±3.54 vs 65.80±3.07%, 69.0±3.16 vs 65.2±2.15% and 72.4±4.30 vs 65.4±2.71%, respectively) on the 90th day of the experiment. Otherwise there was no other difference between the groups regarding nutrients’ digestibility. In the body composition of the rats there was no statistical difference. Although the bodies of the neutered rats contained more fat (20.1±1.97 vs 16.7±308%).en
