Abstract
Indeed the GP group of β glucans are bioactive compounds of great diversity and remarkable potency with uses that spawn from enforcing modern day clinical diagnostics to potentiating intensive farming production performance. As far as the latter is concerned it is in fact true that 40 years ago it took 12 weeks for a chicken to reach 2.75 kg where as modern studies would claim that the chicken may achieve a Feed Conversation Ratio (FCR) of upto 1.9 and reach end weight as soon as 5 weeks even. These heavily intensive farming technology conditions coupled with the demand for setting standards in regards to replacing possible antibiotic treatment in respect to satisfy public safety make the study and use of nutriceuticals all the more important and relevant.
