This thesis has taken a closer look at invasive species with special interest in the consequences on native wildlife. A complete description of the raccoon dog, its habitat and nature has been given. By using definitions of non-native species it has been clarified that the raccoon dog in fact is an invasive species that can have a negative impact on native Danish wildlife. The plans set in motion towards protecting the Danish wildlife have furthermore, been elaborated and presented. In order to fully analyse whether the plan is in fact showing the intended results a look at different methods towards prevention and control were included.en
