dc.description.abstract | In conclusion I have gained much information about the history of the greyhound and the origin of the breed. My research and conversations with the professionals in the industry have thought me a lot about greyhounds and their breeding. They are an animal that have progressed from being a hunting tool for people in olden times. While retaining their hunting prowess and once their loyalty and docility towards people was discovered they became ever present beside the wealthy an affluent figures of society in the middle ages. Those characteristics are still evident today and despite the severe population decreases experienced by the greyhound on two occasions, they still hold a place in society. The evidence of this is on display with the Industry that has been centred on them. | en |
