dc.description.abstract | Nutrition has an important and widely under researched impact on dog behaviour. Protein and tryptophan can affect aggressiveness, fibre effects satiety and antioxidants alter aging behaviour. The differences between a commercial and home prepared diet are vast. The public’s trust of commercial diets has fallen in recent years with many concerned over safety. More research and studies are being done every year that demonstrate the current guidelines and standards of commercial dog food have much to improve on in regards to the production, mycotoxin levels, and the nutrient requirement and bioavailability recommendations. | en |
