In the postpartum period the cow’s need for energy increasingly grows. This raised energy demand often cannot be served by forage. Some would say that bigger fodder portion should be given to the animals to supply the missing energy. However, this would be unhealthy to the composition of microorganisms which live in the rumen so it would raise other several problems. In order to avoid this the missing energy portion can be supplied by extra bypass fat subtances, which provides energy to the animal without damaging its rumen.en_US
