Abstract
Small strongyles are considered to be the most important helminths of horses (Love et al., 1999). Previously, large strongyle were the focus of research and treatment strategies due to their high pathogenicity; however, with strategic deworming practiced widely the prevalence of large strongyles has diminished (Lyons et al., 1999; Bowman et al., 2003; Nilsson et al., 1989; Becher et al., 2010; Drudge & Lyons, 1996; Gawor, 1995; Poynter, 1969; Fritzen, 2005; von Samson Himmelstjerna et al., 2007; Hinney et al., 2011; Schneider et al., 2014).
