dc.description.abstract | Gastrointestinal parasitism is one of the most common infections in dogs leading to widespread concern , notably in developing countries and economically distressed populations. The canine hookworm, Ancylostoma caninum is the most prevalent and important intestinal nematode parasite of dogs. However, in the past few years, cases of persistent canine hookworm infections appear to have dramatically increased, suggesting that anthelmintic resistance may have evolved in this parasite, posing an emerging threat. | en_US |
