dc.description.abstract	The aim of our research is to assess the viewpoint of the prospective dog owners in Hungary when choosing a dog, and what difficulties animal shelters face regarding dog adoption. The method of the research is online questionnaires: one was made for future dog owners who did not have a dog at the time of answering but plan to have one in the future. Another questionnaire was available for civil organizations that deal with dogs (too), so they understand the current issues and problems of dog adoption. The survey was carried out in the framework of the “Gazdijogsi program” with the Ministry of Agriculture and the “NÉBIH”.	en_US
