| dc.description.abstract | In this literature review of the Swedish Warmblood breed’s development, I have
summarized findings from different studies, mainly spanning the years from the 1970’s
until today. The origin and background of the breed, the phenotypical change, and the
inheritabilities of the performance of the breed will be discussed. The genetic divergence
of the two types of SWB horses will be mentioned. Also, the development of the two main
equestrian sports in Sweden, show jumping and dressage, will be mentioned to be able to
understand why the breed’s development has taken the directions it has. | en_US |
