Fever is often a diagnostic dilemma for veterinarians since the causes of the condition are wide-ranging and, in some cases, there are no other recognizable symptoms. The aim of my thesis was to determine the pathological distribution of febrile diseases in dogs, at the Small Animal Clinic of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, based on the data of the last 6 years. During retrospective research, 189 medical records documented between 2015 and 2021 were analysed, patients were retrospectively classified into disease groups and other parameters were also evaluated. Infectious diseases proved to be the leading cause of fever, accounting for 54% of cases, non-infectious inflammatory diseases for 21%, cancer for 9%, and other causes/diseases for 2%. 14% of cases were categorized as fever of unknown origin (FUO).en_US
