The goal of the Thesis was a comparison of pig husbandry systems used in Norway and the EU, with focus on the differences between indoor and outdoor keeping. Research concerning the different systems in use, is based on answers from a questionnaire sent out to both large- and small-scale pig farmers. The farmers all would agree that the welfare of the pigs where of the greatest importance. How to maintain this goal was not as simple to answer. The general opinion on the use of environmental enrichments where positive, with almost all the farmers answering that they to some extent tried to use this at their own farms.en_US
