dc.description.abstract | The interest on the use of phytotherapy has shown an increase in veterinary medicine over
the past years, also due the rising risk of antibiotic resistance. The aim of this work was to
show the availability of medicinal plants in the moderate climate zones, in which Lower
Bavaria lays, as well as the secondary plant compounds’ effect against pathogens and
symptoms found in selected large and small ruminant diseases, such as neonatal diarrhoea,
enzootic bronchopneumonia, mastitis and interdigital dermatitis. Since a majority of large
and small ruminants in Lower Bavaria are held for food production, an approach to the legal
backgrounds was taken as well. | en_US |
