A rangsorban elfoglalt hely és problémás viselkedések kapcsolata családi kutyáknál
Abstract
It has previously been observed that certain behaviours of dogs can be influenced by
their position in the social hierarchy. However, the relationship between problematic
behaviours directed towards owners or other family members and the dog’s social rank has not
been investigated. In this study we investigated the associations of two problematic behaviours,
possession and resistance, with the dogs’ social rank. The social ranks of cohabiting dogs were
assessed using a validated 8-question query, completed by the dogs’ owners. A previously used,
so-called "take away bone" behaviour test was used to assess possessive behaviour, and the socalled "roll over" test was used to assess resistance towards the owner.
