Clostridial Diseases of Production Animals
Abstract
Clostridia is an anaerobic, gram-positive bacterial genus that is known to have 164 species so far.
It is a major part of animals’ gut microbiome but also causes critical health. These challenge
animal production industries worldwide, affecting livestock health, farm productivity, and food
safety. This thesis explores the complexity of clostridial pathogens affecting production animals,
focusing on their pathogenesis, epidemiology, and implications for animal health and agriculture.
