Abstract
This clinical study aimed to identify key factors affecting the success of artificial insemination (AI) with frozen-thawed semen in a clinical patient population of bitches from various breeds. Specifically, we examined the influence of AI technique, body weight, and semen quality on pregnancy rates and litter sizes. A total of 100 AI procedures were performed on 100 bitches using either surgical intrauterine insemination (SIU; n=48) or transcervical insemination (TCI; n=52) between January and May 2021.
